Pair of Vienna porcelain covered vases, each with a reticulated cover, suggesting their use for potpourri, and decorated with grape leaf sprays, the bodies painted with continuous scenes of country-folk in regional costume within rural landscapes, the elaborate rococo scroll handles applied to the bases with gilt decoration and grape leaf sprays, raised on a gilt decorated socle. Underglaze blue shield mark. Austria, probably modelled on the 18th century and decorated in the 19th c. after the factory closed in 1864.
